As our retail successfully grew so did the demand for quality European grocery products. It was this demand that prompted SZEGA, in 1998 to start wholesaling, eventually resulting it to become a hypermarket. Selling to local and international retailers eventually secured SZEGAS position as being a major distributers to all major grocery store chains.
Many of our wholesalers and partners in the HORECA sector sell to traditional retailers on a daily basis.
In the light of our professional, nation wide distribution SZEGA opened a logistic base near Budapest in Diós in 2004. Thanks to these new developments more and newer product categories were added to our list offer. Today our logistic infrastructure allows for fresh, frozen and ambient products to be distributed through the country to all of our customers. Our storage and logistic system meets the strictest and highest standards for grocery regulations.
In 2013, MULTIKON Export-Import Kft. Ltd. ( one of Hungary’s oldest dry grocery enterprise ) was acquired and became a part of the SZEGA FOOD GROUP. We are proud to say that within our retail and wholesale network we represent over 150 international producers in Hungary.
